(KSL News) A Utah couple wants to help a village half a world a way, by ensuring a teenage girl gets an education.
Ginny Schulman and her husband Dean traveled to Ethiopa and became acquainted with a village school teacher. He asked them to help his only daughter escape the inequities and violence toward women.
Ginny Schulman: "There's a lot of reasons to bring her here, get her educated, and send her back to do good things. She would like to become a doctor."
Tirhaus Miteku has been accepted to Utah's Wasatch Academy. The Schulmans have organized efforts to help pay for her tuition. For more information check the "More Information" box.
