TAYLORSVILLE — A man is in serious condition after being stabbed by his younger brother Monday, police said.

The two men were fighting about money when Kuishon Felder, 18, stabbed his 36-year-old brother at about 2:30 p.m., according to Unified police Lt. Justin Hoyal. He said the incident took place near 2800 West and 5400 South.

"The incident started in the home," Hoyal said. "The brothers went outside into the front yard where the incident obviously escalated and the victim was stabbed."

The older brother was transported to a local hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to fair condition, according to Hoyal. He said the younger brother fled from the scene on foot, but was located by officers a short distance from the home and taken into custody without incident.

Felder was booked into jail on suspicion of domestic violence and assault, police said.

There were other family members present in the home, where both men live, at the time of the incident, according to Hoyal. He said a knife was recovered from the scene.

The incident is still under investigation.
