(KSL News) High gas prices have pushed the Utah Transit Authority to increase rider fares.
Last night UTA's board of directors unanimously approved a fuel surcharge fee that will raise bus and TRAX fares by 25 cents. It will cost an additional 50 cents to ride the new FrontRunner train.
UTA says it needs more money to make up for higher diesel costs. The extra charge will start July 1 and be in place at least though September.
