An explosion and a fire rocked a refinery in Davis County tonight. It happened at about 8:30 at the Holly Refinery in Woods Cross.

Our newsroom was flooded with calls from residents in the area saying the blast shook their homes. Vanner Johnson captured the flames on home video, showing a fireball erupt from the refinery.

Fire crews can be seen spraying water onto the fire.

We've received no official word yet on the incident, but we have learned there was some sort of explosion in the refinery and that some workers were injured. It does not appear anyone was seriously hurt, though at least one ambulance was seen leaving the refinery for the hospital.

The fire disrupted railroad traffic for about an hour, including Utah Transit Authority's new FrontRunner commuter trains.

Police have the road blocked at 500 South and 700 West while they get the situation under control.

The Holly Refinery can refine 25,000 barrels of oil a day and produces gasoline, diesel and jet fuel. Just last week the company agreed to spend $17 million to improve pollution control at the refinery.
