RIDGEFIELD PARK, N.J. (AP) — A fatal crash on a New Jersey interstate near the busy George Washington Bridge has left a truck driver dead and another motorist injured.

State police say 58-year-old Thomas Andrews of Keyport crashed into the median on Interstate 95 at around 5 a.m. Friday in the northbound lanes in Ridgefield Park.

State troopers say the driver of a tractor-trailer hauling orange juice was unable to stop and hit the SUV, then overturned.

The truck driver was killed. His name hasn't been released.

Andrews is in stable condition with a head injury.

Traffic has been at a crawl because the two express lanes remain closed. Two of the three local lanes northbound are open near the Interstate 80 split, which leads to the George Washington Bridge and into Manhattan.
