OGDEN — A man was taken to the hospital after being shot, police said.

A 35-year-old man was injured by gunshot Thursday afternoon around 3 p.m. near Quincy Avenue and 24th Street, according to Lt. Danielle Croyle of the Ogden Police Department. The gunshot was not self-inflicted. Multiple shots were fired, police said.

Mark Lopez described what he saw from outside a drugstore after hearing at least one gunshot nearby.

"Blood all over the man's face and arm," Lopez said. "We just started praying."

The 35-year-old man was taken to McKay Dee Hospital in critical condition.

Police would not release further details Thursday.
