SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Fourteen members of what prosecutors say is one of Utah's most violent Asian gangs have pleaded guilty to charges of racketeering and violence in federal court.

Utah's U.S. Attorney's office spokeswoman Melodie Rydalch says the deals were struck with members of the Tiny Oriental Posse gang over the past two weeks. The deals came ahead of a trial that had been scheduled to begin today.

Depending on their individual actions, the gang members face sentences between two and 10 years in federal prison. One man faces up to 30 years. Sentencing are set for May and June.

Among the crimes committed by members of the gang was the Nov. 1998 fatal shooting of Bethany Hyde. Hyde was a passenger in a vehicle gang members thought belong to someone from a rival gang.
