Marc Giauque reporting What will capture most of your attention tonight? Is it Vicente Fox, or what's on FOX? Tonight is the finals of American Idol. Around thirty million Americans are expected to watch.
No doubt some big events today. Enter a Google search for Fox and Wednesday, you'll see about half of the news results deal with Mexican President Vicente and the rest are for American Idol.
"American Idol, like every other night."
That mega hit on the Fox network that, by some estimates, is doing better than any past season. It might not surprise you how many don't know who the other Fox is.
"No."
"No idea?"
"No."
"Nope never heard of him, or her I don't know."
"It could be a her?"
"It could be a her as far as I know."
"From Mexico."
"The a what do they call him Prime Minister."
"What ever the position would be."
But when asked who was on American Idol this season?
"There's a Katharine McPherson and Taylor Hicks and the guy kicked off last week Elliot and yeah I mean there's three of them."
"And before that was Elliot and Chris and a Kelly and oh yeah, Paris Bennet."
"Katharine, Elliot, Paris, Kelly."
What's the draw?
"They're normal people and that ya know, they pursue their dreams and you can see that their dreams come true."
"We watch American Idol, cause it's about one of the only shows on a that's a family oriented."
"I don't know everybody is just so into reality T.V."
Reality? Well, anyway, here's the reality as far as the show is concerned. Thirty million viewers will watch to learn if Kat McFee will win, or if Salt-and-pepper haired Taylor Hicks will become the newest American Idol.
Vicente Fox, by the way will be at a state dinner in Washington. No word on if he has TiVo.
