SALT LAKE CITY — Police are trying to identify the victim of a fatal hit-and-run accident in Salt Lake City Sunday night.

Several people called 911 around 11 p.m. about a man down in the middle of the street at 150 South and 900 West.

When emergency crews arrived, they found the man had been hit by a vehicle. He was declared dead at the scene.

Lt. Tyrone Farillas of the Salt Lake City Police Department said witnesses provided police with a possible license plate of the vehicle involved. Officers tracked it down and are questioning the driver.

No arrests have been made.

Police said the victim, who is approximately 50 to 55 years old, had no identification on him.

They ask anyone who is missing a family member about that age who is known to be in the area of the incident to call police.
