(KSL News) -- Two foster children honored their parents with a unique award today in Salt Lake.
Larry Whipple, Award Presenter: "People who grow up knowing they are loved, live different lives than those who don't. And that is what foster care is about."
Larry and Laura Whipple presented their parents with Foster Choice Awards. The award is presented each year to individuals who make a special contribution to the lives of foster care children.
The Whipples say their parents took them in as toddlers and eventually adopted and raised them.
Marilynn Daniels, Award Recipient: "Adopting these children from the moment that my husband I saw them, we knew they were to be ours, that this was the way we were to have our children."
The award is presented each May, which is National Foster Care Month.
