LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- A Utah State professor has been named one of 40 Carnegie Professors of the Year.

Lyle McNeal is an animal science professor who is being recognized for excellence in teaching undergraduate students. Utah State is home to eight of the last 13 Carnegie Professors of the Year in Utah.

A public ceremony to honor McNeal as Utah's Carnegie Professor of the Year will be held on Thursday at Utah State's alumni center.
