In May 1856 members of the Willie handcart company sailed from Liverpool England anxious to join the Saints in Salt Lake City.
It was a difficult journey full of hardship and heroism. Many of the group's members suffered and died along the way, but there were plenty of miracles that helped sustain them as well.
Filmmaker TC Christensen documented some of these experiences in his movie "17 Miracles". and his book "More than Miracles: Extraordinary stories from 17 Miracles".
