(KSL News) The mortality rate at Utah hospitals is going down.
According to a report from HealthGrades, a health care ratings organization, overall mortality at Utah hospitals dropped 17 percent between 2004 and 2006.
The largest drop in deaths was in the area of cardiac surgery. Cases resulting in death decreased by 43 percent over the two year period.
The lowest drop was in coronary interventional procedures, with only a 16 percent decline.
