The West Valley Police Department started the day making a big arrest. They nabbed 21-year old Tyson Yellowbear, wanted for a murder that happened only a few weeks ago. Several different agencies were after the man because he is considered so dangerous.

Even U.S. Marshalls were after Yellowbear; he had a one million dollar warrant out for his arrest. He was caught up high, on the roof of a house.

Juanita Bay: "I just got up, having a cup of coffee on the back porch, and my son came out and said, 'I hear something on the roof.'"

Hiding on their roof was 21-year old Tyson Yellowbear, with a criminal record including theft, burglary, assault, and now wanted for murder and attempted murder. West Valley, South Salt lake, U.S. Marshals, the metro gang unit, you name it, and they were after Yellowbear because of shooting that happened last month.

Police say Yellowbear shot and killed a 32-year old at a party and critically injured another. He's been on the run ever since. Police knew he was hanging out in the area so police were patrolling it often, and this morning spotted him. That's when Yellowbear tried to get away on foot, but he was outnumbered.

So Yellowbear went to higher ground, where he was caught. A relief for this family.

Cody Allee, Resident: "On TV it looks cool for someone to come to the house and stuff. When it's really doing it to real life, like you, it kinda freaks you out and all that."

Juanita Bay: "They caught him, that's good. Why my house though?"

Yellowbear was armed during all of this. Police found a gun he threw in the backyard and there could be another. The family there now knows to keep an eye out for one.
