(KSL News) -- Drivers on Hill Air Force Base are no longer allowed to use certain cell phones while driving on base.

A new national policy goes into effect today. It requires drivers to use a hands-free device while driving on any Department of Defense installation.

Drivers can use other kinds of cell phones if they are safely parked and not impeding traffic.
