Alex Cabrero Reporting Fire season is definitely not over in Utah. In Parley's Canyon a small wildfire created some big headaches this afternoon.
The good news is that the wildfire is now out.
It started at about 2 p.m., and fire crews from several agencies responded to the fire as quickly as they could. Even though it was small, burning only 10 acres, they were worried about this fire because the wind blowing up the canyon was starting to make this fire spread very quickly. It was never close to any buildings, but they were worried it might go in that direction.
All three eastbound lanes are now open, but traffic is was slow for a while.
Investigators don't think the fire was intentionally set. Most likely it was an accident, possibly a cigarette butt or chain dragging, or maybe a spark went into the dry grass.
