MILFORD — A fire is ravaging a building containing pigs at the Circle Four Farm, requiring a full attack by the county's fire department.
A Beaver County Sheriff's dispatcher said the blaze was reported at 9:30 p.m. Friday and officials were struggling with communication problems, so few details were available.
Circle Four is the state's largest pig farm and a multi-million dollar industry. In 2001, a devastating fire roared through the Blue Mountain sow operation in Iron County, killing 12,000 pigs and causing $4 million in damage.
