Alex Cabrero reporting Tomorrow will mark an anniversary you won't find on any calendar, unless you knew Maureen Hunsaker. She was killed 20 years ago.

Matt Hunsaker lost his mother when he was only 11-years-old. His mother's killer has been in jail all this time, on death row, and still could be for years to come.
Matt Hunsaker, Victim's Son "It is going to be a tough day."
As Matt Hunsaker stares at his mother's picture, he can still remember the day it all seemed to crumble.
Matt Hunsaker, Victim's Son: "I woke up that night when the police were at the house with my dad. I was there inside when they took my dad outside and told him they found my mom."

Maureen Hunsaker was taken from a Kearns gas station by a robber, who brought her up Big Cottonwood Canyon and killed her.
That was 20 years ago tomorrow. Her killer Ralph Menzies, , is still in jail -alive - on plenty of appeals.
Matt Hunsaker, Victim's Son: "Where was my mother's appeal when he was tying her to the tree? Where was my mother's appeal when he was cutting her throat?"
Utah Assistant Attorney general Thomas Brunker says the Utah Supreme Court is reviewing the State's case, seeing if it can go to the federal phase.

Even then, it could still be years.
Thomas Brunker, Assistant Attorney General of Utah: "We know who murdered Maureen Hunsaker. There's no real question that Menzies is the one who murdered her, yet he's still alive."
That's the tough part for this family. They feel the system is failing them.
Betty Sudweeks, Victim's Mother: "It's the best system in the whole world, but it sure grinds slow."
Matt Hunsaker, Victim's Son: "For my kids to meet their grandma is to take flowers to a cemetery, and that's not fair."
Matt Hunsaker knows Menzie being put to death won't bring his mother back to life. But he feels it'll bring his family some closure, knowing the man who killed his mother was put to death himself.
