(KSL News) -- A Provo man pleaded guilty today to murder. Jamie Velasco admitted to killing his estranged wife's boyfriend and trying to kill her as well.
It was in February of last year when Velasco stabbed his estranged wife, causing both of her lungs to collapse.
She survived, but her boyfriend, Fernando Barraza, died in the stabbing.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped the possibility of the death penalty. Velasco will be sentenced in March.
