SALT LAKE CITY -- The Mormon Tabernacle Choir's new album has hit No. 1 on Billboard's Classical Overall chart this week. In addition, the bestselling Men of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir album came in at No. 3 this week. The album has appeared on the Billboard charts for 26 weeks.
This Is the Christ joins Choir mainstays of sacred music including Then Sings My Soul, Love is Spoken Here, and Consider the Lillies—the bestselling Choir album of all time.
This Is the Christ includes never-before recorded songs, including "The Lord My Pasture Will Prepare," "Dear to the Heart of the Shepherd," and "Nearer, Dear Savior, to Thee."
The Mormon Tabernacle Choir has recorded nearly 200 albums over the past 100 years, with five gold records, two platinum records, and a Grammy. This latest recording, This Is the Christ, marks the 39th project to come out on the Choir's independently owned recording label.
