SAN ANGELO, Texas (AP) -- A polygamous church member accused of marrying leader Warren Jeffs to a minor in Texas is still awaiting trial after hiring a new attorney.

Frederick Merril Jessop appeared Thursday in a San Angelo courtroom for what was scheduled to be his last pretrial hearing. But the former bishop of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints instead received another pretrial date after arriving with a new attorney.

A judge scheduled Jessop's next court appearance for June, the first of potentially more pretrial hearings. His trial on one felony count of performing an illegal ceremony is set to begin in October.

The 75-year-old Jessop is accused of marrying Jeffs to the girl at the group's Yearning for Zion ranch in 2006.
