(KSL News) Three people voted off the Ute Tribe Business Committee did not go away empty handed. The three gave themselves more than $12,000 in "parting gifts" before leaving office.
The Deseret Morning News Reports the departing members signed the invoices themselves.
The three claim parting gifts are a tradition. However, other committee members say those gifts were determined by the council, not the departing members.
