SALT LAKE CITY — Simply Mac, a Utah-based Apple product retailer, will hold its first ever e-Waste Recycling Event in Salt Lake and Utah counties.

The two-day event will take place on Friday, April 29 and Saturday, April 30 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Unwanted computer parts and devices can be taken to one of four drop-off locations, including parking lots at the Merrill Engineering Building located at 72 S. Central Campus Drive on the University of Utah campus, the Maverik Center at 3200 S. Decker Lake Drive in West Valley, Thanksgiving Point at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way in Lehi and the Provo Towne Centre Mall located at 1200 Towne Centre Blvd.

On April 29, businesses, hospitals, government agencies, educational institutions and other organizations will be allowed to drop off their recyclable electronic and computer materials.

Entities wishing to participate must pre-register at www.simplymac.com/recycle. April 30 has been set aside as the public day and will be open to all Utah residents.

Acceptable materials include CRT monitors, LCD displays, CPUs, laptops, servers, UPS systems, keyboards, mice, speakers, hard drives, cables, two-way radios, computers, fax machines, photo copiers, printers, scanners, surge protectors, telephones, typewriters and adding machines.

Recycling services will be provided courtesy of Apple, with all equipment to be destroyed and recycled in an environmentally sound manner.
