SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah is home to the new National Drill Competition Champions.
Members of the Copper Hills Drill Team just returned from California where they competed in six different categories. They took first place in five of six categories including lyrical, hip hop and kick. But the biggest prize was overall winner and national champion.
The team's head coach, Shannon Mortensen, said, "The girls were beyond excited. Words cannot describe. They were completely elated and celebratory all the way through Disneyland the next day, the airport. They were greeted by a mob of very happy parents, fans and friends."
The coaches say it took countless hours of practice and lots of hard work.
