SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Utah libraries have earned top honors as they're ranked number two in the country in circulation levels, staffing, funding and hours of operation.
Under the same criteria on a local level, the 2005 Hennen's American Public Library Rankings put the Salt Lake City Public Library at number seven. That's out of more than 320 libraries in cities with 100-thousand to under 300-thousand people.
The Salt Lake County Library System is within the top ten libraries in areas with more than 500-thousand people.
The Mount Pleasant Public Library was ranked number two out of cities with 25-hundred to under five-thousand people. This is the third year Mount Pleasant has been near the top of its category.
Hennen evaluated more than 92-hundred libraries in all 50 states.
