(KSL News) -- Our latest round of winter weather has also caused some power outages in Kearns, forcing officials to close two Granite District schools early today.

Bachus Elementary and Jefferson Junior High are without heat or light. So after, lunch students are heading home.

Parents must personally pick up the elementary school kids, otherwise the kids can stay at the school until the normal closing hours.

The Junior High kids can head home themselves, or stay at school if they don't have anywhere else to go.
