(KSL News) Shoppers needed galoshes at the South Towne Center this afternoon after a main water pipe broke.

The Macy's store floor in the mall was covered in about three inches of water. Firefighters found the broken pipe and rerouted the water outside. They also had to shut off all the water and power to the store for a short time.

Officials say hardly any merchandise was damaged, but there was about $15,000 worth of structural damage.

The Macy's store will be closed for several hours while everything is cleaned up.

No word yet on what caused the pipe to break.
