(KSL News) Two hundred Air Force reservists left Utah today for a six week mission in Iraq.

The reservists with the 419th fighter wing took off early this morning for the long flight. Many of them said goodbye to their families at around 3 or 4 a.m.

On board are veterans and those heading overseas for the first time.

Richard/ Master Sgt., 419th Fighter Wing: "It's just one of those things that we do all the time. We're going to keep our heads down and do the best job that we can."

Sgt. Swoveland/ 419th Fighter Wing: "I'm a little apprehensive. This is my first time going overseas, but they've assured me that it's going to be fairly safe. They've done everything they can to be sure of that, so I feel confident."

The group will make several stops on their way to Iraq, mainly to refuel.
