(KSL News) A three car pile up on I-80 blocked traffic heading up Parley's Canyon this morning.
A driver heading east at the mouth of Parley's Way says a semi truck cut in front of him. The motorist tried to get out of its way, but lost control. He slammed into the guardrail, then shot across the road and collided with the cement barrier.

A second vehicle managed to stop without hitting anything. But a third car slammed into the second vehicle, throwing it into the first car.
The driver of the second vehicle suffered cuts on the head. The other two drivers suffered minor injuries.
Troopers say motorists need to be more aware of what's happening on the road.

Sgt. Dave Popelmayer, UHP Trooper: "You've got to look further ahead of the traffic, further than just the car in front of you. Look three, four, five cars in front. That will give you more time to react."
Crews shut down two lanes of traffic while cleaning up the mess.
