ST. GEORGE, Utah (AP) -- A citizen's group is raising money to lead opposition to a water pipeline from Lake Powell to St. George.
Citizens for Dixie's Future received a $15,000 donation from the Save the Colorado (River) Fund for education and conservation efforts.
The Spectrum of St. George reports that the Save the Colorado Fund is a coalition of corporations and foundations.
The $1 billion Lake Powell pipeline would bring 100,000 acre-feet of water a year to southern Utah.
Studies on the project are expected to be completed by year's end.
