SALT LAKE CITY -- Local philanthropists Jon and Karen Huntsman have added their names to a list of families who have pledged to donate at least half of their wealth to charity.
The pledges are in response to a call by Warren Buffett, who in 2006 pledged to give 99 percent of his $46 billion fortune to charity.
The Huntsmans have already donated $1.2 billion to charitable causes, which include contributions in the areas of education, health and human services. One of the couple's most notable philanthropic causes is the Huntsman Cancer Institute, which they founded in 1995 and is now one of America's major cancer research centers.
