SANDY -- It's been nearly a week since a Sandy woman was found dead in her home and police have not made any arrests in the case.

Police say they are still awaiting autopsy results, and until they get the official cause of death, they won't officially call this case a murder.

The victim, 33-year-old Magda Aleman, and her husband owned several Rancherito restaurants in Utah.

On Monday, KSL talked to the victim's brother. He declined to go on camera but said Aleman was a good woman. He said he has no idea who would want to hurt her.

Aleman's husband found her body on July 13 and ran to a neighbor's house to get help. She had been shot, but police won't say how many times.

They say there was evidence of a struggle but wouldn't elaborate on that.

Investigators have been working around the clock to find out what happened but have not named anyone a person of interest or a suspect.

"I would say that our investigators have gained some good information over the last few days," said Sandy police Sgt. Troy Arnold. "They'll continue to follow up on that information as they continue to interview people."

Aleman and her husband have three children, who were playing at a neighbor's house when Aleman died.

Neighbors have described the family as amazing.

Police have set up a tip line, dedicated to this case. They hope anyone with information that can help them with the investigation, give them a call.

That number is 801-568-INFO.
