NORTHERN UTAH -- Construction crews will close both directions of Interstate 15 in Provo this weekend as part of the I-15 CORE project.

Crews will be demolishing the bridge on the southbound off-ramp to eastbound Center Street. The purpose is to widen I-15 by two lanes on both sides.

The closure begins Saturday night at 11:00 and goes through it Sunday morning at 11:30. [CLICK HERE for a map of alternate routes]

And starting Friday night at 10:00, the Utah Transit Authority will close westbound 9000 South near I-15 to make way for a new FrontRunner bridge. All traffic exiting the freeway will be detoured eastbound on 9000 South to State Street and 7800 South.

If you need to go west, UTA recommends drivers also consider using the 10600 South exit.

The 9000 South closure will last until 5:00 Saturday morning.

The road will close again Saturday at 8 p.m. through Monday at 5 a.m. [CLICK HERE for more information from UTA]
