(KSL News) A broken water line main flooded a tire warehouse this morning.
An elbow on a four-inch water line gave way at Wholesale Tire Distributors at 39th South and 3rd West. It happened just before 9:00, and the floodwaters triggered an alarm. Luckily, water had just been flowing for a few minutes before firefighters arrived.
Dave Lehnhof, Battalion Chief, Unified Fire Authority: "At that point we were getting 30 to 50 gallons a minute flowing out these main warehouse doors."
Water damaged a couple of computers in the office and some papers, but there was little damage to the warehouse itself or the contents.
