SOUTH JORDAN -- A teenager is being treated for smoke inhalation following a house fire in South Jordan.

The two-alarm fire began on the 4300 West block of Open Crest Drive around 11:30 a.m. and burned for almost an hour. Smoke and flames could be seen shooting through the roof of the home.

The teenage girl was taken to the hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation and is in stable condition.

Crews are assessing damage and say the cause of the fire still is under investigation. Neighbors said it appears the fire started in the backyard near a gas grill.
