SOUTH JORDAN, Utah (AP) -- Former U.S. Senate candidate Cherilyn Eagar has endorsed businessman Tim Bridgewater for the Republican Senate nomination.
Bridgewater and attorney Mike Lee are facing off in a June 22 primary to replace Sen. Bob Bennett, who was knocked out of contention at the Republican convention.
Eagar came in fourth place at the convention. After being knocked out in the first round of voting, her supporters helped Bridgewater make it into the primary.
It is unclear how much Eagar's Wednesday endorsement could help Bridgewater. Despite years as a conservative activist, she has low name recognition among most voters.
