SALT LAKE CITY -- The new Northwest Recreation Center at 1250 W. Clark Ave. in Salt Lake City opened Friday.
The new county facility features an indoor pool, fitness center and gymnasium.
In celebration of the opening, admission to the center will be free all weekend, and a number of special classes and fitness demonstrations are being offered.
In addition, all memberships are 10 percent off from now until June 15.
The $14.8 million center was paid for through a zoo arts and parks grant.
