CENTRAL UTAH -- A ranch owner in Birdseye -- a small town southeast of Santaquin, Utah, off Highway 89 -- is trying a new way to get people who don't like camping to go camping.

Glamping packages include mountainside yoga classes, camp theater with large screen and surround sound, and massages.
Glamping packages include mountainside yoga classes, camp theater with large screen and surround sound, and massages.

When most people think of this favorite Utah pastime, they envision the campfire, the scenery, the theater with surround sound.

Wait... What?

Yes, a theater. The concept is called glamorous camping -- or, as it's being called, "glamping."

Ranch owner Fritz Black offers glamping packages at Danglin' B ranch.

"You show up, the tent's ready with a queen-sized bed and 500 thread count sheets on it," he said.

Black says the ranch comes complete with gourmet meals, horseback riding, couples massages and something most camping trips don't offer: a full bathroom and shower.

Black says he knows a lot of avid outdoorsmen may say, "That ain't campin'."

"I would say, ‘You are right,'" Black said. "This is not the normal camping experience, which is exactly why most people would want to do it."

Black says packages start at about $100 a night for two people. CLICK HERE for more information.
