SANDY -- A Sandy resident is suing the La Caille restaurant over noise from the business.

The French restaurant is located at 9565 S. Wasatch Blvd., and Steven Smith's home is adjacent to it.

The Deseret News reports Smith filed suit Tuesday in 3rd District Court, saying the restaurant's owners allow "excessively loud music and other noise." Smith says he has called police and the city to complain, to no avail.

Smith claims the noise violates a Salt Lake Valley Health Department noise pollution control regulation. The lawsuit seeks damages and an injunction.

La Caille was not immediately available for response.
