SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Gov. Gary Herbert has declared May "Motorcycle Awareness Month" in Utah.
To kick off the riding season, the Utah Highway Patrol is launching a statewide campaign, "Drive Aware, Ride Aware." Officers hope the campaign will help drivers and riders pay closer attention and help save lives.
At a press conference Tuesday they stressed the importance of wearing your helmet and obeying traffic laws.
The riding season hasn't fully started yet this year, but three riders have already been killed.
