COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) — Shae Kelley poured in 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds, both career-highs, and No. 23 Minnesota pushed past Ohio State 76-72 on Thursday night.
Mikayla Bailey added 16 points with 12 rebounds for the Gophers (15-2, 4-1 Big Ten), who had a 60-40 rebounding advantage. Amanda Zahui B. chipped in 14 points with eight boards and Shayne Mullaney dished out 10 assists.
Kelsey Mitchell hit a school-record nine 3-pointers for Ohio State (11-7, 3-3) to finish with 36 points, seven rebounds and seven assists before fouling out late. Ameryst Alston contributed 18 points and Cait Craft had five steals for the Buckeyes.
Zahui B. made two free throws and a layup to grab a 65-57 lead, but Mitchell hit a jumper and a 3-pointer, making it 69-66 with 1:27 remaining. Carlie Wagner answered with a three-point play and Mullaney sank four free throws in the final minute to seal it.
