UNDATED (AP) — Parity has become more prevalent in college football over the last few decades, but not at the very top. Notre Dame is just the 10th team to reach the four-team College Football Playoff in the five years of its existence. Alabama has played in all five playoffs and Clemson has made four. Oklahoma is in for the third time. If Alabama and Clemson win their semifinals, they would meet in the playoff for a fourth straight season and play for the national title for the third time in four years.

MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. (AP) — Alabama's quest for a second straight national championship is taking the Crimson Tide to the Orange Bowl. Top-seeded Alabama (13-0) will face fourth-seeded Oklahoma (12-1) on Dec. 29 in one of the College Football Playoff semifinal games.

UNDATED (AP) — Georgia will face Texas in the Sugar Bowl on New Year's Day in New Orleans. It's the first time the powerhouse football programs have played since the Cotton Bowl on Jan. 2, 1984. Both schools are coming off losses in their respective conference championship games: Georgia fell to Alabama in the Southeastern Conference while Texas lost to Oklahoma in the Big 12.

NEW YORK (AP) — It's only December, but UConn showed it's the best team in the country with an early season win over Notre Dame. The Huskies topped the Irish 89-71 on Sunday in the women's Jimmy V Classic behind a stellar effort by freshman Christyn Williams, who had 28 points _ six points off the school record for a freshman held by Tina Charles.

UNDATED (AP) — The SEC championship thriller between Alabama and Georgia on CBS drew the highest television rating for a regular- season college football game in seven years. CBS said the game drew a 10.52 rating, an increase of 25 percent over last year's SEC title game between Auburn and Georgia and the best rating for any non-bowl game since LSU and Alabama played a No. 1 vs. No. 2 matchup in November 2011.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Missouri senior point guard Jordan Geist has never been afraid of big moments. Last year, he took the blame when late-game passes and shots went awry. On Sunday, Geist got to play the hero as he led the Tigers to a 64-62 overtime victory over UCF.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Admiral Schofield scored 16 points, Kyle Alexander had 12 points and 10 rebounds and No. 6 Tennessee breezed to a 79-51 victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Grant Williams finished with 14 points and nine rebounds for Tennessee in its last tuneup before a Dec. 9 showdown with No. 1 Gonzaga in the Jerry Colangelo Classic at Phoenix.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — Evina Westbrook scored a career-high 29 points on 12-for-15 shooting and No. 11 Tennessee handed Oklahoma State its first loss in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Westerbrook, who made all eight of her shots for 16 points, and Braxtin Miller, who had 22 for the Cowgirls, put on a show in the first half.
