SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Chase Hansen always seemed destined to become a linebacker at Utah even though he first signed as a quarterback and later became a safety. Moving to linebacker has elevated Hansen's game and has helped Utah's already fearsome defense reach another level. He has played an important role in getting the No. 17 Utes to their first Pac-12 championship came, where they will face No. 10 Washington on Friday night.

TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — Zylan Cheatham finished an assist short of the second triple-double in school history and Arizona State rolled to an 89-71 victory over Nebraska-Omaha. Arizona State beat No. 15 Mississippi State and Utah State last week to win the MGM Main Event in Las Vegas. The Sun Devils were short-handed against Omaha and started slow before using a big run to turn the game into a rout.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Willie Naulls, the former UCLA star who was a four-time All-Star with the New York Knicks and won three NBA championships with the Boston Celtics, has died. He was 84.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah quarterback Jason Shelley's willingness to act on instinct and do whatever needs to be done to win is one key reason Utah is playing No. 10 Washington in the Pac-12 championship game on Friday night. He has gone 3-0 as a starter since stepping in for Tyler Huntley after Huntley broke his collarbone in a loss to Arizona State. The Utes haven't taken a step backward with Shelley at the controls.

BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — McKinley Wright IV scored 22 points and Lucas Siewert had 18, helping Colorado pull away in the second half to beat Portland 93-69. Tyler Bey added 12 points for Colorado, which remained unbeaten in three meetings with Portland (5-4). Siewert led the Buffaloes with 10 rebounds. Josh McSwiggan had 22 points to lead the Pilots. No other Portland player scored in double figures.
