Harden's 42 leads Rockets to 3-0 edge...Wizards push Raptors up against a Wall

DALLAS (AP) — James Harden scored a playoff career-high 42 points, Dwight Howard had his postseason best with 26 rebounds to go with his 13 points and the Houston Rockets beat the Dallas Mavericks 130-128 for a 3-0 lead in their first-round series. The Rockets go for the sweep Sunday night in Dallas.

WASHINGTON (AP) — John Wall drew choruses of "M-V-P!" with 19 points and 15 assists, 37-year-old Paul Pierce hit two key late 3-pointers, and the Washington Wizards closed in on a first-round playoff sweep by beating the Toronto Raptors 106-99. Wall was one of six players in double figures for the Wizards, who can sweep the Raptors with a victory Sunday in Washington.

NEW YORK (AP) — The New York Rangers used Carl Hagelin's overtime goal and spectacular goaltending by Henrik Lundqvist for a 2-1 win over Pittsburgh to advance in the Eastern Conference semifinals against either the New York Islanders or Washington Capitals. Hagelin scored at 10:52 of OT to give the Rangers their fourth 2-1 victory in the five-game series.

NEW YORK (AP)— Mark Teixeira (teh-SHEHR'-uh) hit a pair of two-run homers and Michael Pineda improved to 3-0 as the New York Yankees end the crosstown rival Mets' 11-game winning streak with a 6-1 victory in the Subway Series opener at Yankee Stadium. Jacoby Ellsbury also connected off Jacob deGrom, who fell to 2-2 with the loss.

AVONDALE, La. (AP) — Hudson Swafford is the overnight leader at the Zurich Classic after a weather suspension late in the second round. Swafford has a one-shot edge over Boo Weekley at at 11-under par after a 6-under 66. Weekley has three holes to play and will finish his second round early Saturday.
