Bracket Bits

Joe Lunardi has spoken, and here are the latest hits from ESPN.com's Friday "Bracketology."

BYU remains a 7 seed, projected to play 10 seed Mississippi State in Anaheim. UNLV remains a 10 seed and is projected to play 7 seed Oklahoma in Raleigh.

New Mexico is in the "Next Four Out" category, while Boise State is in as the projected WAC champ (14 seed).

RPI guru Jerry Palm has BYU has an 8 seed, playing 9 seed Arkansas in Anaheim. UNLV is a projected 10 seed, facing 7 seed Texas A & M in Anaheim. Boise State is in as a 14 seed.

CBS Sportline.com's Gary Parrish has BYU and UNLV in the field, and New Mexico on the bubble.

From one of my blog entries on January 15th:

"I'm not going to say why I feel this way (to protect the innocent and/or knowledgable), but as a DirecTV subscriber, I think there is reason to feel optimistic about the chances my satellite carrier might soon be carrying the mtn. into my home.

I know, I know, you're rolling your eyes, you're smirking, you may be cursing, and you're definitely saying "I've heard this one before," but I've just got a feeling that this could be a good year for DirecTV subscribers who are also BYU fans and "want their mtn."

That day, I had spoken with a highly-placed MWC source who confirmed an agreement in principle had been reached with DirecTV, and that it would be a matter of time before details were ironed out and put on paper.

Well, five-and-a-half weeks later, here we are. I look forward to being able to watch games and scout BYU's opponents from the comfort of my home. As for the BYU games themselves, thankfully I'll keep my press pass. But I can empathize with the thousands of you who will finally get to see your favorite teams on the tube again.

Of course, I will ask that every once in a while, you turn down the sound on the TV, and turn up KSL Radio :)
