Young voters seem more interested in presidential election

Randall Jeppesen reportingThere's been a lot of talk about how young voters could make a big difference during this election.

Typically, college students have a very low voter turnout. But in talking to various college students, KSL Newsradio found this election year isn't typical.

"You know, from what I've seen in my roomates and friends is actually quite a bit that seem rather interested in it," one student said.

We even ran into guys like Shane Woods, who's part of a group called "BYU for Obama."

"We try and draw attention to ourselves. We ask people to register to vote," Wood said.

Their group will even be hitting the streets of Provo knocking doors, trying to gather support for Obama. Wood says in this close primary, Utah and college students can play a big role in who eventually gets the needed delegates.
