SOUTH OGDEN — The 92-year-old woman critically injured in a car accident Sunday died Tuesday from injuries suffered in the accident.
Vivian Sylvester was critically injured when the vehicle she was riding in crashed into a Toyota at the intersection of U.S. 89 and Harrison Boulevard. The accident occurred Sunday around 4 p.m. when a southbound Toyota was trying to turn east on Highway 89 and Sylvester's westbound Saturn crashed into it, according to South Ogden police.
The driver of the Saturn, 93-year-old Russell Sylvester, died at the scene of the accident.
The driver of the Toyota, Kenneth Hahn, 54, and the passenger, Melanie Hahn, 52, were both injured and transported to a local hospital. However, police said their injuries did not appear life-threatening.
The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but initial eyewitness reports said the Saturn ran a red light at the intersection, police said.
