Wind helps clear the air

(KSL News) Bitter cold wind has started clearing out the nasty air that's been hanging over the valley for the past couple of days, but that wasn't the story this morning.

Above the state Capitol today, the air was thick and nasty. The air was so bad it triggered a red air alert, meaning you should spend limited amounts of time outside, exercise inside and limit your driving.

The dirty air is not a smog inversion, as we often see in the summer and winter months. It's actually dust, kicked up from the high winds.
