Water tank leak means residents need to conserve

(KSL News) Hundreds of Kaysville residents are being asked to use their water very sparingly for the next week and a half.

John Thacker, Kaysville City manager, says one of the water tanks shifted a few inches, severing a water line. Now that line is leaking.

It also got some debris in it, which damaged the pumps and in turn made it hard to fill the water tank. That means the city can't meet the normal water supply.

Thacker says, "There's a few homes, about 200, that we've asked the residents to be careful of their water use, to use water only for health and sanitation and those things that are necessary."

Crews are working on the problem, but it will likely be about 10 days until the pumps start working again and the tank is refilled.
