Utah lawmakers' personal finances disclosed

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- U.S. Sen. Orrin Hatch's song-writing career remains strong.

Federal financial disclosure reports show the Utah Republican earned more than $15,000 in music royalties in 2007.

Hatch has written hundreds of songs, with many of those focused on religion. He is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Financial disclosure reports released Monday also show that U.S. Rep. Rob Bishop and a family member had a weeklong trip to Germany paid for by the U.S. Association of Former Members of Congress. The association last paid for Bishop to travel to Germany in 2005, when he served as vice chairman of a study group that participates in an exchange program with members of Germany's parliament.

Bishop has taken a special interest in Germany, where he served a mission for the LDS church.
